Stored Cards FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

鈥淪tored cards鈥 uses your online purchase history from the last 9 months to show where you鈥檝e stored your card details with businesses鈥攂oth online and in apps鈥攁nd in digital wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay鈩 and PayPal. You might have stored this payment info for purchases, subscriptions or repeating payments.

鈥淪tored cards鈥 also highlights:

  • If you have irregular charges
  • Businesses where you recently stored your card
  • Businesses you need to contact to update your card when you get a replacement

You can use 鈥淪tored cards鈥 to see and manage which cards you鈥檝e linked to businesses or stored in third-party digital wallets.

When you get a replacement card, your payment info stays current in digital wallets that stored your old card, and at some businesses that store your card without keeping the actual card number on file. 鈥淪tored cards鈥 lets you know which businesses automatically keep your payment info current, and which you need to update manually.

Keep in mind: If you update your card directly with a business, it won鈥檛 show up on 鈥淪tored cards鈥 until after you make your first purchase. If you add it to a digital wallet, you should see it linked on 鈥淪tored cards鈥 in moments.

These are businesses where you鈥檝e made online purchases or set up repeating payments within the last 9 months. The list shows you data we receive from businesses about your online purchase history.

Businesses identify the transactions where they鈥檙e using stored card info and share that with us periodically, so your list might not always be complete. If you recently added or changed your card info, you might not see a business listed until you receive a charge or make a purchase there.

Some businesses store your card without keeping the actual card number on file for extra security. That鈥檚 why your payment info automatically stays current with them when you get a replacement card.

Businesses that keep your actual card number on file need you to update your payment info manually to keep your repeating payments and subscriptions.

To update your card with businesses, go to 鈥淎dd card info to businesses鈥 and search for the ones you want. If you don鈥檛 find them there, go to the business鈥 websites or contact them directly.

"Stored cards" includes where you've added your cards to digital wallets so that you can track  places where you've stored your card info. If you have more questions, see more info about digital wallets and device-specific FAQs.
