Judging by the amount of 鈥渉ave you seen it?鈥, 鈥淚 was absolutely glued to the screen鈥, 鈥渂est western since鈥︹ on social media and raving reviews in the press, The English, BBC and Amazon Prime Mini Series, is set to become an instant cult classic. The Guardian鈥檚 review is full of praise for the script, the cast, the writer/director 鈥 and rightfully so.
The English title sequence - designed and directed by none other than el Colony鈥檚 Steve Fuller, a man behind the iconic 鈥淭he Mad Men鈥 opening titles.
With Fuller鈥檚 trademark sense of drama and silhouette, the animated title sequence packs a punch and is a fitting accompaniment to the series. Starring Emily Blunt, the show follows an upper class English woman on her mission for revenge across the Wild West. The sequence adopts a rough and ready textured aesthetic, where a torn paper collage is transformed into a saturated desert landscape.
But while Fuller鈥檚 vision drives the piece, the production and design of the title sequence was very much a group effort. Design company Scatterlight Studios oversaw the project, with Colin Hess and Daniel Kamhaji bringing it to life in animation, Colin and Carol Cai filled out the design, and Chris Billig at Scatterlight brought Steve in and produced the project.
Steve is represented by El Colony outside of the US.
