Real Refugees Fight for Survival and Hope in Doctors Without Borders Film
Lieven Van Baelen directed 鈥楧octors Without Borders鈥 latest film where a boy is fighting for his life. Archival footage propels us into the world of a war-stricken country where a child was pulled from the rubble after his primary school was bombed. The doctor who speaks off screen with a voice over, recounts the emotional journey of the boy and his mother who came into the emergency room.
Despite the doctor鈥檚 efforts, it looked like the boy鈥檚 chances were down, he didn鈥檛 think he was going to make it. But the compelling pleas and praying by the boy鈥檚 mother gives the doctor hope; he continues trying to revive the young child, who after all the odds were against him, survives. Today, because of the efforts of 鈥楧octors Without Borders鈥 the boy lives and the mother still has her son.
The entirety of the cast in this film consists of real refugees.
