Bill Bleakley of MOFA directs another documentary style music video for Australian blues band, The Teskey Brothers. ‘Take My Heart’ is the second in a series of three interconnected clips for the band.

In this video we follow a few of the same characters and introduce a few more. “It was a nice challenge to make a three part narrative clip – I’m not used to spitting narrative arcs over a few episodes. Each of the videos had to work as a standalone clip, but also had to add weight to the series so it was tricky to get right.”

We see a young rodeo Noah Dingle brought into the narrative, showing him being mentored by rodeo legend Lance Anderson. “Lance is already Noah’s teacher, so we continued to use a documentary approach try and capture real life rather than recreate it.”

The clip also features The Teskey Brothers performing at a couple of locations; a scout hall and an ice hockey rink. “This was the brothers idea and was inspired from the varied venues the boys performed at when they were just starting out. We shot all of these different performances in a day and hit four different locations. The Ice Hockey was crazy, we could only get the rink really late at night but we had about fifty players and fans turn up to be in the video. Luckily, our DOP Adric Watson is an amazing Ice Skater (in a past life he was a gun inline hockey player) – so we were able to get some really dynamic shots on the ice. Two months on, my shoulder is still hurting from falling over while trying to out-do Adric on the ice.”
