Greenpeace Romania is taking action against the indifference of authorities regarding illegal logging by launching the 鈥淐urse for Good鈥 campaign. Instead of activists, artists or influencers with millions of followers, the campaign uses a real Romanian witch 鈥 Irina Primavera 鈥 who casts a spell on illegal loggers and authorities.
You can check out the unconventional campaign film below:
6 hectares of wood are disappearing every hour in Romania due to illegal logging and legal cutting. For each tree legally cut, another one is illegally taken down. Yearly, Romania is losing 20 million cubic meters of wood 鈥 this translates into a 5 billion lei hit to the Romanian budget (0.6% of Romania鈥檚 GDP), without counting the social and ecological consequences in the face of the global climate and ecological crisis.
With the 'Curse for Good' campaign Greenpeace Romania aims to put pressure on the Ministry of Waters and Forests to urgently change the System of wood tracking which represents the XXI Century technological solution to automatically monitor & track the Romanian forests.
