Electric Theatre Collective have bolstered its production team with the arrival of Renata Fabri. Renata joins Electric in the role of colour producer, and will coordinate projects for the studio's award-winning quintet of grading talent.
Originally from Brazil, Renata cut her teeth agency side, working at BETC, Havas and GUT S茫o Paulo. But a trip to the UK as a child cemented a lust for London life, and 2020 saw her make the move to the UK, just in time for Brexit鈥檚 European immigration deadline and in the midst of a global pandemic鈥
A role production side at Plastic Pictures followed, succeeded by a three year stint at Nomad specialising in colour and visual effects. During her career she鈥檚 produced campaigns for the likes of Apple, Google and Coca-Cola - but it鈥檚 the variety that really gets her going.
鈥淚 love that no two days are the same鈥, Renata comments. 鈥漁ne minute, you鈥檙e working on a mega global campaign. The next, you鈥檙e helping to craft something super niche and artistic. The work at Electric speaks for itself - insanely creative, beautifully crafted, and always pushing boundaries. It鈥檚 great to be part of a team that鈥檚 so passionate about what they do.鈥
Olly Whitworth, head of colour production, comments, 鈥淚t鈥檚 been a really exciting year for Electric Colour. We鈥檝e moved into a brand new space, added to our trophy cabinet, and welcomed some new faces. Renata鈥檚 arrival adds another chapter to the story and I couldn鈥檛 be happier that she鈥檚 here.鈥
In her own words:
Renata> There are so many reasons! The range of amazing projects, the passion, the people. I鈥檓 looking forward to working with the talent here to bring these projects to life.
Renata> Believe it or not, I wanted to be a Diplomat! I even studied International Relations and Political Science before realising that my real passion was in the creative world. So I made a sharp left turn into advertising, and I鈥檓 so glad I did.
Renata> So many! But if I had to pick one or two I'd say Little Simz鈥 鈥楶oint and Kill鈥 promo, and 鈥楾he Big Christmas鈥 for Sainsbury鈥檚 - both are the kind of work that makes you stop, stare, and wish you had been part of the magic.
Renata> Probably making the leap from agency life to post-production and thriving in it! It felt like a big shift at the time, but it鈥檚 been such a rewarding journey.
Renata> I鈥檓 not exactly known for my karaoke skills. But if I had to grab the mic, it would 100% be 鈥楿nwritten鈥 by Natasha Bedingfield.
Renata> Tough one! There are so many great spots, but Birdcage is a solid choice - the perfect place to sit outside on a Sunday and watch the crowds at the flower market.
Renata> One of my top three was to read more books, and I鈥檓 off to a solid start - four down already! Let鈥檚 see if I can keep up the momentum for the rest of the year鈥
Renata> Currently obsessed with 鈥楽everance鈥 and 鈥榃hite Lotus鈥. Who isn鈥檛?!
