ProdCo director, Onda, invites viewers into 'Barrera,' a seven-minute fashion film for Barriers Worldwide that features items from their new collection 'Barrera' launching on January 24th, 2025. Filmed on 16mm amid the stark deserts of Joshua Tree, California, 'Barrera' merges performance art, rich cultural echoes, and a sense of quiet resilience. 

In a world often preoccupied with speed and perfection, 'Barrera' moves at its own pace, urging viewers to slow down and lean in. Its quiet triumph lies not in glossy surfaces, but in the warmth of lived experiences and the resonance of shared histories. Its layered imagery nods to old Soviet films and the colour palettes of Jodorowsky, creating a tone that is both intimate and wide-open. 

"We tapped into the desert’s rawness and the tactile warmth of shooting on film to shape the performance,” Onda explains. “Rooted in family and guided by Black cultural narratives, the concept threads a story through metaphor, leaving space for anyone who watches it to shape it into their own meaning.” 

As the brand’s website, , states, “Each collection is carefully curated to invite you into a time machine to inspire conversation, education, and connection.” 'Barrera' takes that vision and drapes it across a cinematic tapestry - where clothes aren’t just worn, they’re woven into generational dialogue.
