SMUGGLER's Aoife McArdle directs the spot from Apple In-House

Apple pushes boundaries of mobile filmmaking for dynamic new iPhone 16 Pro film. The film showcases its ground breaking 4K120 fps, and the ability to adjust the playback speed after capture in the Photos app to create stunning cinematic slow-motion. The film builds on Apple’s recent behind-the-scenes and music video for The Weeknd’s ‘Dancing with the Flames’.

Directed by Aoife McArdle, known for her work on the Emmy-nominated series Severance, the film pays homage to classic cinematic tropes with real stunts and effects.

The film highlights the versatility of recording in 4K120 fps ProRes and adjusting the video to a quarter-speed playback, a new half-speed option for a dreamy effect, and a fifth-speed option that corresponds to 24 fps - all on iPhone 16 Pro. Set to Danielle Ponder’s soulful track ‘Roll the Credits’ the film celebrates the fusion of cutting-edge technology and cinema, empowering users to become visual storytellers.

The film launches across broadcast, online platforms, and social media. It aims to inspire amateur and professional filmmakers to explore new realms of mobile filmmaking.
