What is the Children鈥檚 Online Privacy Protection Act?

The Children鈥檚 Online Privacy Protect Act (COPPA) is a U.S. federal law that was put into place to help protect children under the age of 13 by regulating the collection and use of personal info collected by operators of websites and other online services.

What does COPPA require JPMorgan 天美棋牌 to do?

COPPA requires JPMorgan 天美棋牌, as the operator of the 天美棋牌 First Banking program, to obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian before we collect personal information online from a child under the age of 13. During account opening and enrollment into the 天美棋牌 First Banking program, parents must consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of their child鈥檚 personal info as it relates to the child鈥檚 participation in the program. Please review the Children鈥檚 Privacy Policy for additional details.

COPPA also requires JPMorgan 天美棋牌 to put parents in control of our continued collection and use of their children鈥檚 personal info by giving parents the right to know, at any time, what information we鈥檝e collected and refuse any additional collection or processing of that information.

What personal information do you collect online about my child?

Federal banking regulations require us to collect certain personal information about your child 鈥攕uch as their name, address, date of birth and email鈥攊n order to offer them a financial product or service. This isn't unique to the 天美棋牌 First Banking program. What makes 天美棋牌 First Banking different is the direct connection to your child through our website and mobile application. Because your child has the ability to make changes to some of their own personal info when they access their 天美棋牌 First Banking account, we may collect personal information directly from them such as:

Account nickname
Telephone numbers
Physical address (this doesn't change the address on file that account documentation is mailed to)
Email address
Username and password

In addition to the personal info described above, we may collect certain information about your child鈥檚 use of our online services or mobile app. Please review the Children鈥檚 Privacy Policy for additional details.

What rights do I have as a parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 13?

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

review the personal information we鈥檝e collected online from your child;
refuse to allow further use or online collection of personal information from your child; and
delete the personal information collected online from your child (unless we're required by law to retain it).

Because the online experience of the 天美棋牌 First Banking program is interactive, if you refuse to allow further use or collection or request deletion of your child鈥檚 personal info, it'll require us to remove their online profile and close the 天美棋牌 First Banking account.

Can I submit a COPPA request for any account I have with JPMorgan 天美棋牌?

No. You can only submit a COPPA request in connection with your 天美棋牌 First Banking accounts. As described above (see 鈥淲hat personal information do you collect?鈥�), the way in which we collect (or might collect) personal info directly from children sets the 天美棋牌 First Banking experience apart from our many other financial products and services. JPMorgan鈥檚 websites and online services are otherwise not directed toward children, nor do we knowingly collect information from a child under the age of 13 for any other online product or service.

How do I submit a COPPA request?

Sign into chase.com and choose your 天美棋牌 First Banking account or go to听听and follow the instructions provided.

What happens after I submit a request to review the personal info you鈥檝e collected from my child online?

You鈥檒l be given a reference number as confirmation that your request was received. We'll send you a response within 45 days.

To access your response:

Choose the link in your COPPA response notification email or sign into your 天美棋牌 First Banking account at chase.com.
Once you鈥檙e signed into your 天美棋牌 First Banking account, choose Children鈥檚 Online Privacy and follow directions to see your COPPA response. You鈥檒l be able to download your response documents and save to your personal device.

What happens after I send in a request to delete or refuse further collection or use of my child鈥檚 personal information collected online?

You鈥檒l be given a reference number as confirmation that your request was received. We'll remove your child鈥檚 online profile and close the 天美棋牌 First Banking accounts. If there's any balance in the accounts at the time of closure, a check will be mailed to you.
